Told by an Idiot’s show, the hysterical Too Clever By Half was a biting satire about Gloumov, a young scoundrel who was out to the top of bourgeois society, regardless of what it takes to rise through the ranks and who he steps onto to get there.
Backstabbing, greed, blind ambition and some wonderfully odd characters combined to create a truly theatrical, heartfelt and touching piece that was as provocative and pertinent as it was in 1868.
